Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 17, 2026
This Privacy Policy outlines how Saving Caregivers Foundation (“the Foundation,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects your personal information. By using our services or submitting information through our website, you agree to the terms outlined here.
1. Information We Collect
When you apply for a grant you choose how much to tell us. An application may include:
- Name, email address, phone number, and the city and state you live in
- Details about your caregiving situation, including who you care for and how many hours a week you provide care
- Financial information such as employment status, approximate monthly household income, and whether you receive assistance elsewhere
- The circumstances you describe in your own words, which may include health, housing, or family detail
- Technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, and which pages you visited
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Review your grant application and decide how we can help
- Contact you about your application, including asking for anything missing
- Arrange payments or assistance to you or on your behalf
- Report anonymised, aggregated totals to donors, grantmakers, and regulators
- Improve our site and programs
- Comply with our legal and tax obligations as a nonprofit organisation
3. SMS Consent
You may choose to receive transactional and conversational SMS messages from us about your grant application and our programs. Our form provides separate checkboxes so you control which, if any, you receive:
Application (transactional) messages — status updates, requests for missing information, and scheduling related to your application.
Submitting the form alone does not opt you into text messages — you must check the relevant box. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of applying for or receiving a grant.
- Message frequency may vary, up to 4 messages/month.
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP to unsubscribe, HELP for help.
- You may opt out of either message category at any time by replying STOP.
4. Data Retention
We keep applications for as long as needed to administer our programs and to meet the record-keeping rules that apply to a nonprofit organisation, including grant reporting and tax requirements. You may ask us to delete your information at any time, and we will do so except where we are required to keep a record.
5. Data Security
We apply reasonable safeguards to protect your information and limit access to the people who review applications. No system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your data. We may share information with trusted service providers who help us operate, such as our CRM and our donation platform, for service delivery only. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing with subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
We do not share the details of your application, or your identity as an applicant, with donors or sponsors. Where we report on our impact we use anonymised, aggregated figures, or a personal story shared only with the explicit written permission of the person it is about.
7. Cookies & Tracking Practices
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to:
- Operate and improve our website
- Understand site usage and performance
- Measure the results of our outreach and fundraising campaigns
- Remember user preferences
8. Third-Party Links
Our site links to external services, including our donation platform. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external websites.
9. Children’s Privacy
Our services are directed to adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. An application may describe a child you care for; that information is treated as part of your application and is held under this policy.
10. Policy Updates
We may update this policy at any time. When updated, the new effective date will be posted. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance.
